Day 1 Group 25

A) Who is in your group and why did you guys decide to be a group together?
Our group consists of me(Matt Megarity), Aaron Lim, Camden Suhy, and Jack Barker. We decided to work together because we are all friends and work well together, so we figured we would make a good group.

B) What is your initial plan to fulfill the objective of launching a ball a given distance?
Our initial plan is too use a marble to start the whole thing. After running through tracks and setting off multiple items like pulleys, mousetraps, and other marbles or balls, the golf ball would be launched by a catapult type device. We will either have it where we can adjust the launching angle or the length of the catapult arm to accommodate for the different distances the golf ball might have to go.

C) What challenges do you anticipate facing?
Challenges that we anticipate are the many steps that are in the Rube Goldberg project and deciding the best way to launch the golf ball. With many different factors, actually creating the entire thing is a challenge since different variables are a part of every run. It is also difficult to decide which method for shooting off the golf ball would be most accurate. This entails finding which way, changing the launch angle or the catapult arm length, leaves the most room for error and why.
