Blog Post 2

The simple machines we are using are, for the moment, inclined planes, a pulley, and a lever.  The inclined planes are used so that the ball can go down by relying on gravity to push it down. We are planning to use the pulley in a way that will bring a marble from the bottom back to  the top. We plan on using complex pulley's so that the first initial marble will make one side heavy bringing the other side to the top. The lever will be used to allow the marble passage to the other side of the ramp. As the, able goes up the lever, the weight will cause a shift of balance, bringing the lever down.

In terms of energy transfers, we will obviously have potential to kinetic. As the ball approaches the bottom of the board most of its potential energy will be transferred to kinetic energy. Using the pulley, it will bring the ball from kinetic energy to potential energy as it goes to the top of the board. We plan on somehow incorporating a fan that will cause electrical energy to be transferred into kinetic, to cause the fan blades to rate. we also plan on using on a spring to launch the ball, elastic potential energy into kinetic energy.

For the most part, we have all contributed equally. Griffin and Luke have worked together on building on the board, while Connor and I have also worked on the board, more so on materials. Connor works on drilling in nails (he's good), while I work on sawing on the wood to provide a base for the project. We all help each other out if the help is needed. Furthermore, in coming up with ideas on how to proceed with the project, we have all put forth good ideas
