Blog Post #1 Group 21

Written by Martin Saucedo

A.) My group consists of Myself, Christopher Bibanco, Gustavo Saucedo, Anthony Avila, and Brenton MacMahan. We decided to be in a group together because we have first period free and everyone, with the exclusion of Anthony has class during 4th period so it would be easy for us to work together since we would all be there during that period. In addition, Christopher has a free period during Anthony's class period and Gustavo, Brenton, and I have 7th period free so we have multiple periods where we can work on it with at least 2 people at a time.

B.) Our initial plan was to build a catapult out of wooden planks which belonged to an old crafting set of mine, tying a rope to it and triggering a mouse trap to launch the catapult. We would use the same procedure we used for the slingshot lab in order to adjust for distance.

C.) Some of the major challenges we anticipate facing are having to use pulleys with mechanical advantage, using an electrical component to show when the object has hit the target and one of our main concerns was trying to get as close to 1 minute as possible.
