1. We plan to use a lever, pulley, multiple inclined planes, and a wheel and axle. We plan to use the lever as a way of hitting a balloon up because hydrogen has a lower density than oxygen and will rise to the top of our board. We plan to use a pulley to have a weighted object lower in a controlled way. We are using inclined planes as a way of moving objects down the board and to get us as close to a minute as possible. We plan to use a wheel and axle to help turn our circuit on.
2. We are starting our project from the top of our board so we will have gravitational potential energy which will become kinetic energy as it starts. We will also be using light energy to signal when our golf ball is about to leave the ramp by turning on a light through a circuit. The pulley will create mechanical energy that will be transferred to be controlled.
3. Our group had been efficient in our process of building our project. Each of us has put good ideas into the direction we will go for our project. Garrett Schneider and Johnny Balok have put forth the best sketch of the design. Cameron Dobbs has been efficient in doing the time consuming but necessary tasks. Joe Fimian has helped with creating the base of the project.
