My group is composed of Matthew Tullis, Sean Torpey, George Rodriguez, and me. The four of us chose to work together because we are friends already and believed our teamwork and synergy would help create a successful project. Since this project requires large amounts of cooperation and prolonged time spent together, we chose partners who would match well with each other. And in addition, since a lot of the grade stems from participation, a group with those who appeared most compatible with us benefits each of our grades.
Initially, we plan to launch the ball using a series of inclined planes that could be launched into the air at varying distances. Due to the unreliability of launchers, inclined plans offer an chance to reach a target with more precise accuracy and a time closer to sixty seconds. Before this, the use of a screw and motor will allow an exchange for a golf ball, and the funnel and switchback system will add sufficiant time for the completion at one minute.
Many challenges may arise throughout the construction process. Firstly, one of our team members will be missing from the project for three days. Without his presence, valuable assistance will be missed for these three days. In addition, for the marble to travel correctly through the funnel, a precise angle and launching distance are required. Without extreme accuracy, valuable seconds could be gained or lost. Despite these challenges, the hard-work and determination of the team will ensure a swift and bountiful success.
